SAM AND MANDY WEAVER
The founders of Churton.
With a background in farming, an education in microbiology and a love of wine, Sam was destined to combine all three and has now been working as a farmer / winemaker since the late 1980’s. Winemaking stems from the vineyard and Sam’s primary role is managing the micro biology of soil and canopy and sharing his wealth of winemaking experience and knowledge with the next generation. Sam is past Chair of the Biodynamic Farming Association of New Zealand.
Mandy’s skills are at the business end of the things – having qualified as a translator in London in French and Spanish, she now focusses her eye for detail on the administrative and marketing liaison side of operations. She loves the interaction with people from all around the globe who work at Churton often on a working holiday as much as working alongside our worldwide distributors and importers. A keen advocate for organic winegrowing, Mandy is the deputy Chair of Organic Winegrowers New Zealand.
