Sales Manager, New Zealand & Australia

Jack Weaver

Jack grew up a member of the Churton team.  As school holidays coincided well with vineyard activities he was often found bud rubbing, training vines and doing the dreaded wire lifting.  This commitment in the vineyard followed through to the winery and, as soon as he’d completed school, Jack began working Churton vintages as a Cellar Hand.

Travel and living overseas beckoned.  First in England where Jack worked with Tanners Wines and then in Argentina for two years where he developed his sales skills working in the transport industry.  He also spent time in Australia where he worked in sales with farming and food service providers.

Never too far from the wine  industry, Jack has worked eight vintages spanning from New Zealand and Australia to Portugal and Switzerland.

Upon returning to New Zealand in 2014, Jack excelled in his new role as Churton Vineyard Manager.  He meticulously ran the logistics of harvest, ensuring varieties were picked only at optimum physiological and analytical ripeness and carrying out hand harvest with respect and attention.  Caretaking the soil and vine health spurred on Jack’s interest in the land and he is currently studying Biological Sciences & Ecology at Victoria University.

Jack is based in Wellington and manages Churton’s New Zealand and Australia distribution channels.
